Fuel your ego or fuel your growth?

The biggest fear of almost every high-achieving person I speak to (and it's A LOT) is not what you think it is.

These are people who have overcome odds.

They've reached levels of success that they've fought for every single step of the way.

Their biggest fear isn't necessarily loss of income...

The biggest fear is changing the title on their LinkedIn profile.

It's status.

I get it. I've been there!

It took me almost a full 2 years before I added the word "coach" to my title, even though I had been doing it for a full year prior.

I was flooded with worry that my former colleagues would maniacally cackle or my haters (can you believe I have haters? Pfffft!) would try and put voodoo curses on my journey and wait for my demise.

Who does she think she is?

Sheesh. We really think people think about us A LOT!

But I knew that something BIGGER had been put on my heart and WOULD NOT LET UP until I did something about it.

3 things:

  1. Your desire to live out your purpose MUST be bigger than your fear of what (the wrong) people will think of you. Let's face it, those are the people you couldn't stand anyway. 👎

  2. Fear keeps you small. Purpose expands you. 😎 Known is the comfort zone. Outgrowing your comfort zone is where you feel tension. That tension is usually a signal it's time to grow! Lean into it.

  3. People WILL judge. 💁‍♀️ Those aren't your people. 💅

What is is you TRULY want in life? Like, deep down when you strip away allll of the stuff that doesn't matter.

Will it fuel your ego or fuel your growth?

And speaking of rooting down into your truest self, my guest on today's episode of Late Learner is Victoria Albina.

  • Emotional outsourcing vs. validation

  • Understanding our nervous system

  • A new take on self-compassion

Go and listen, ya hear? OR WATCH HERE if you're into that more. Oh, and I love you!

PS. Have you heard of emotional showers? YES, SIGN ME UP FOR THIS IMMEDIATELY (also, who wants to open this as a business with me?).

PPS. I get annoyed by Nicole Kidman's perpetual perfection. And yet, she's done it again. I am HOOKED! And also, can we start a community to discuss this? (checks reddit)

PPPS. Chris Martin for President. 🎈
