Boost Your Day: Connecting Kindness and Fulfillment
"Your spirit. People don't quite understand it."
Excuse me?
"You've got a big, bright energy. I can tell people don't know what to make of it."
I didn't know her. She didn't know me. Well, maybe she did? She seemed to nail it in .3 seconds! 🤷♀️
She was sitting on a bench at the front of a busy restaurant for breakfast while I was greeting a bunch of strangers for a women's networking event.
She told me she was studying to be a pastor. And felt called to say something. 🤗
I told my husband about it and he asked "Did you feel seen?"
Ah, there it is.
Sometimes little angels 👼 come into our lives at the perfect time.
What does it feel like in those moments when YOU feel seen and heard?
It's a glimmer. And we need more glimmers. ✨ ✨ ✨
Whenever you feel stuck, help someone else. It will always get you flowing again. 💐
The next time you find yourself noticing something remarkable about someone else, will you say something to them?
Sidenote: Are you the kind of person that stops yourself from saying something because you convince yourself you don't want to seem weird, interrupt, or that they probably don't want to hear from you?
Can I tell you a secret? That sucks. You are so much greater than that.
And stopping yourself breaks a connection with someone else that could make allllll the difference for you AND them. 🤗
INVITATION: Next time you are witnessing something that catches your attention, tell them. Don't apologize for interrupting. In fact, don't apologize EVER. Just smile and tell them.
Studies show that the simple act of witnessing an act of kindness has all kinds of positive benefits - and now you have the power to BE the cause of it.
Here are a few prompts of what you can notice:
a joyful nature
stranger helping another person with an umbrella
a nice outfit (ladies, we can put in some TIME on looking right walking out the door. amirite?)
nails/lashes/hair (srsly, that stuff takes 4-EVA!)
Speaking up for someone else
going above and beyond
What would you add to this list?
On a personal front, I'm really grateful that you open these emails week after week. And every week when you hit reply on these emails and tell me what's going on in your world or that my message resonated with you or push back on an idea, I am downright giddy. And if we are being honest, it's a definite marker that you are cool. 😎

P.S. Not sure if I should be offended or honored, but my Effective Collective mastermind application page is being redesigned LIVE by the brilliant founder of Digital Brand Kit TODAY for her live branding webinar and Q&A. It's free! I hope you'll join me and sign-up to attend here. The psychology of it all is fascinating!
P.P.S. Could Pink Floyd solve neurological problems? Ah, THIS is some science I can understand!
P.P.P.S. If you are the supermom type who kicks ass at life, but accidentally found yourself getting your a*s kicked in the process, we should talk! While this page will probably look way better after today 😉 , let's talk here.
