Is it heavy around here?

“Feeling less festive and adding a layer of guilt on top of it? This is what's called a good mourning." - Allison Hare

Fa la la la f*uuuuuuuuuck!

Is it me or is this season heavier than usual? Not feeling as festive?

Maybe feeling guilty that you aren't appreciating the magic of the season like you used to?

I didn't send out holiday cards this year. Or last year. And I do feel sad about that.

I wanted to give myself permission to reduce any stressors and be a little more intentional.

I also noticed that we didn't get as many holiday cards as we used to.

Naturally, I assumed everyone hated us and people are definitely sick of my sh*t. 🤷‍♀️

But talking amongst friends, turns out this haze of sadness might be a little more widespread than my self-inflicted judgment.

This collective sorrow is actually a good thing.

Huh? I unpacked this idea in today's episode of Late Learner Podcast.

Essentially, there's a required mourning period that gives way to a more truthful and purposeful existence.

Some of that requires letting go of relationships that aren't serving you anymore. (and how to do it! It's HARD to speak the truth when you aren't sure how it will be received).

You'll also find a new twist on clearing the decks and what to focus on in the new year.
