20's and 30's, you're busy checking all the boxes, making sure money's coming in, 401K and benefits handled, a solid LinkedIn title, kids, family, all of it.

40's and beyond? WHOA! 🤯 💥

Um, did you have to hit that hard, life? Sheesh!

Lotta BS. Lotta awakening. Lotta letting go. Lotta unlearning. Lotta late learning.

Personally, I've been grappling with aging and how much I H-A-T-E to see my face start to droop and drop and all the rest of it that comes with perimenopause, blah, blah, blah.

I mean, where TF is my Cocoon elixir? 👶

Yeah, yeah, wisdom is cool and all. But society has truly done a number on us.

It's actually a phenomenon called "pretty privilege." 👄

Essentially, a concept used to examine the economic, social, and political advantages afforded to both men and women solely based on their physical appearance.

Research consistently shows attractive individuals are more likely to be hired, promoted, and receive higher salaries. 💰 💴 💵 💰 Their appearance-based confidence also enables them to pursue the wages and opportunities they desire and deserve.

OF COURSE we are twisted up up about this.

I remember going to sleepovers when I was 16 and sleeping with my makeup bag right next to my head.

The moment I would wake up, I'd run to the bathroom, put on mascara, 👀 under-eye concealer, lip gloss 💄 , blush, brush my hair, all of it before anyone saw me. 👄

16!?!?!?!

Well, turns out we've been misguided on beauty and skincare and what we REALLY need to help keep us healthy for as long as I can remember.

So I got board-certified dermatological surgeon Dr. Mary Alice Mina to share with us the real scoop on Late Learner Podcast on what is a marketing gimmick and what we truly need as we age.

And you'll be thrilled to know that beauty and skincare is SO much less expensive than we thought!

Okay, gotta run! I'm literally getting my hair did as I write this. 💇
