Overthinking and Overthanking

Overthinking and Overthanking

November 28, 20242 min read

Sheesh! Has your brain been in OVERDRIVE this week?

Always fancied myself as an overthinker and with having an abnormal schedule in a holiday week, it's felt like there's a whole pet store full of hamsters racing in the brain.

First of all, I saw Wicked and I loved it so much, I am considering painting myself green until further notice. 🤢

Popular, Defying Gravity (OMG! that BATTLE CRY), and the unlikely coupledom of the perfection confection that is Ariana Grande and our modern-day Anthony Michael Hall, Ethan Slater has occupied way too much of my brain this week.

Beyond that, the extra mind space when the routine is interrupted quickly gets filled with every worry, trivial crap, memes about overscheduled moms during the holidays, stressing over the political comments your dumb-ass brother is going to slide in at Thanksgiving dinner, logistics, etc, etc.

There is something useful in these grand fantasy escapes like Wicked and Gladiator (together, Glicked!) around the holidays.

When the overthinking crowds your brain, may you allow it to pass like a cloud in the sky and re-center on your breath.

I know, so basic. But it does work when you're in what feels like an obsessive loop.

And if you need more grounding....

Notice the memories made this season that time won't take away. 💕

Overwhelm yourself with gratitude for it all - knowing that there is a bigger plot in process - and a bigger, brighter future for you and your loved ones.

Happy Thanksgiving! And THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for reading these emails, sharing the ideas, and listening to my podcast.

You complete me! 🫶 🙏
