Trick Or Treat

Tricks or Treats

Hurry up and slow down.

Remember when we were younger and all we wanted to do was to be a grown-up?

We wanted freedom, our own choices, money, do exciting things, and not to be under anyone's rule.

Now, we feel like we are under our kids' and boss' and society's rules and it feels a little...tight. Even stifling.

If I've learned a few hot takes I was wrong about from my 50 years walking around as a human (HEY HEY! Just crossed that milestone last weekend), it's this:

  1. Milk chocolate sucks 🍫 - sorry Halloween mamas raiding your kids candy tonight. Here's a better and more sustainable alternative

  2. Quick fixes to life hacks are mostly bogus and cause more pain - Seth Godin's blog post Moving with Ease describes this beautifully

  3. Binge-watching TV can be good for you -everyone needs an escape valve AND a mirror into ourselves served on an entertaining platter

  4. Stress and anxiety are totally reasonable responses to your lived experience - at some point, though, you outgrow it and it's time to create a new pattern (want help?)

  5. The strongest relationships will suffer if you don't intentionally prioritize them - a reminder to cancel that lunch Zoom work meeting and have a mini date with your partner or a friend you haven't seen in a while instead

  6. Let stress fuel this election season - wtf? Yeah, I'm serious. There's no escaping it. Instead of fighting it and feeling like something is wrong with you because you can't tune it out, ride it out instead.

Personally, I've tried everything to smooth over the anxiety...yoga, running, working out, sharing funny memes in private texts, meditating, dancing, talking it out, using my platforms of podcast/blog to help.

It helps to some extent. And sometimes it pisses me off more (my yoga instructor's peaceful namaste-energy and talking almost put me over the edge 😡 ).

Instead of fighting the stress, I am doing this instead.

MORE BIG NEWS!

I'm rebranding EVERYTHING. If you read through the past few blog posts and podcast episodes, you'll see why.

No new episode this week.

I am refocusing the energy on a big launch!

If you haven't checked out last week's episode on the psychology behind money and why it makes us so uncomfortable, listen here!

This episode seemed to hit a big nerve with y'all!

I appreciate all the notes, texts, DM's on this one.

Go and listen, ya hear? OR WATCH HERE if you're a YouTube kind of person.

Oh, and I love you!

PS. I can't stop consuming election content haaaalp!). I'm surrendering to that, too. This is a great option for news that is bipartisan and has a unique take.

PPS. This was ballsy AF!

PPPS. Check out this powerful keynote on turning your passion into an impactful profitable business that I saw a few weeks ago at Lewis Howes' Summit of Greatness. This was life-changing - worth the listen.
